About Artist

Vladlena Miroyan is an artist lives in London. She is a passionate traveler, constantly exploring and learning about new cultures and art, drawing inspiration from galleries and museums. She observes architecture, art, music, and nature, capturing the character and emotions of beautiful places around the world in her sketchbook.

She loves her home city, London—a place filled with beautiful architecture, rich history, and stunning diversity. Its endless array of art exhibitions in galleries and museums constantly changes, making it irresistibly inviting. Often, she takes reference photos and makes sketches to capture compositions, colors, and shadows. Later, she develops her ideas in her studio, nestled in a beautiful part of Surrey, surrounded by incredible landscapes and lush greenery that inspire and energize her in the most natural way.

She loves  plein air sketching and painting as it fuels her art passion, allowing her to create the art that captures the essence of nature and architecture. The symphony of sounds, the vibrant colours, frozen music in stone, fragrant aromas all serve as her muse, inspiring every sketch and brushstroke. Shearing her creations with the world brings her an immense joy, as she  hopes to convey the beauty and serenity she finds in the world through her artwork.

For her, painting is a deeply creative and meditative practice - an exhilarating journey of self-exploration and discovery within the boundless realm of art. The more she creates and learns, the deeper she dives into a world brimming with colors and an endless stream of ideas yearning to be realized and shared. Being an artist and a creative is an important part of her life; it brings joy and satisfaction, fuels her imagination, and fills her with excitement. It is a way to express herself, show the feelings and emotions through her creativity,  show the world through her own eyes and share her creative vision with others.

Artist's mediums

As an artist, she thrives on the exploration of various mediums, each offering its own unique possibilities and avenues for expression.

Her love for watercolour stems from its spontaneity; the fluidity of this medium allows her to capture moments in a way that feels immediate and alive. She relishes the unpredictability of watercolours, where each brushstroke can reveal unexpected colours and textures, creating a vibrant dialogue between the art and viewer.  â€‹

Acrylics, on the other hand, provide her with the flexibility to change and evolve the work. Their quick-drying nature enables to layer and manipulate her creations, making adjustments that can transform an entire piece. This adaptability allows to explore deeper ideas and refine her vision, embracing the freedom to experiment without constraints.

She also likes sketching in her  sketchbooks. These sketchbooks serve as intimate records of her observations and inspirations, capturing the essence of places, people, and moments as they unfold. Whether she is on the move or settled in her studio, sketching allows to refine the ideas and explore the world around her in a spontaneous and unfiltered way. Usually using graphite, charcoal, ink, gouache, watercolour etc.

She also loves to incorporate mixed media into her work, blending various materials to create richer textures and dimensions. This approach not only enhances the visual impact of her pieces but also invites new narratives to emerge, as different mediums interact in unexpected ways. The combination of watercolour, acrylics, gouache, ink and other materials enriches her creative process, allowing her to explore the full spectrum of an artistic vision.

Ultimately, her journey through these diverse mediums is a continual exploration of expression, spontaneity, and transformation. Each medium she engages with contributes to her growth as an artist, expanding creative toolkit and inviting to push the boundaries of her work.
